DC- and other intelligent Grid Solutions
Electrification and the integration of renewable energies leads to growth of consumers and sources with DC power. As a consequence increasingly often dedicated DC grids are used for power distribution as an effective means to reduce investment cost in cabling and connected devices.
VONK Control Platform
The application areas are mostly dedicated grid solutions. We build upon our experience to create the best fitting solutions for these often new applications. With our state-of-the-art VONK Control Platform we can provide tailor-made power conversion solutions which fit the requirements of specific applications, whilst using standard building blocks.
Many examples are already in use. For light-rail systems we have optimized transformer usage and brake energy recovery. This gives the possibility to increase light-rail grid capacity without significant infrastructure investments, whilst also saving energy.
Application
In many municipalities in The Netherlands part of the public lighting system has been replaced with our innovative DC distribution system. Other applications based on the same technology are greenhouse lighting, automotive charging stations and industrial applications.
