VONK at World Hydrogen Summit 2026

Proven power for European hydrogen

Rotterdam Ahoy | 20–21 May 2026 | Stand 3C30

As hydrogen projects across Europe move from pilot phase to industrial deployment, the role of power conversion is becoming increasingly critical. During the World Hydrogen Summit 2026 in Rotterdam, VONK will present its approach to large-scale power supply for electrolysis.

Through its NEYA platform, powered by VONK, the company delivers multi-megawatt power supply systems that are already operating in European hydrogen projects. These include installations in the 20 MW class, supporting both PEM and alkaline electrolysis. This operational experience reflects a broader shift: hydrogen is no longer in demonstration, it is becoming industrial infrastructure.

Meeting Grid Requirements

Large-scale electrolysis plants have a significant impact on the (local) electricity grids. Therefore, grid operators are putting up tighter requirements on power quality, controllability and fault resistance for such facilities. NEYA power supply systems are intrinsically capable of handling these requirements, taking away concerns of stakeholders in project developments.

Engineered for integration

NEYA power supply systems are developed specifically for industrial electrolysis and large-scale deployment. The focus is not only on delivering DC power, but on ensuring controlled and reliable interaction between grid, power conversion and electrolyser.

Particular attention is given to:

  • Interface definition between power supply and electrolyser
  • Transformer configuration and grid compliance
  • Harmonic performance and power quality control
  • Control architecture and system stability
  • Safety interlocking and protection philosophy
  • Alignment during FAT, SAT and commissioning

This integration-driven approach supports EPC contractors and OEMs in defining scope, reducing technical risk and improving overall project bankability.

Designed to fit

The NEYA power supply is available in a number of standard configurations, fitting to the characteristics of most of the leading OEMs. By this, it ensures it matches plant capacity, grid conditions and operational strategy. This prevents over dimensioning and ensures that performance, cost and reliability are balanced for each project.

NEYA systems are operating in the field and are continuously improved based on operational feedback. This results in mature interfaces and predictable behaviour under industrial conditions.

Powered by VONK, the platform builds on more than 85 years of experience in power conversion for critical industries such as Oil & Gas, nuclear enrichment and defence. This background translates into a strong focus on reliability, lifecycle performance and robust engineering.

Meet us in Rotterdam

During the World Hydrogen Summit 2026, VONK will share insights from ongoing European hydrogen projects and discuss how scalable power architecture supports long-term electrolysis deployment.

The focus will be on practical engineering challenges, including grid compliance, harmonics mitigation, modular expansion and lifecycle optimisation.
