VONK is proud to announce the successful completion the factory acceptance test of the first emergency power units for a Liquefied Natural Gas plant in Brunei.

This unique design was made by VONK to meet our client specific needs. The power generation unit is installed in a container building at ground level while the power distribution unit is
installed on top. This stacked design reduces the required plot space significantly and is very suitable for sites with space constraints. The first set has now been manufactured , fully tested and will begin the journey to Brunei for installation in early 2020.

The site installation and construction activities will be executed by our team in Brunei together with our local partner Zainal Daud.

VONK will attend the renowned OIL & GAS AUTOMATION AND DIGITALIZATION CONGRESS (AUTOMA 2019) in the Mövenpick Zürich Regensdorf hotel on 14 and 15 October 2019.

Today the leaders of the market understand that the efficient use of digital technologies in the oil and gas sector could reduce capital costs by up to 20 percent. It could cut general expenses in oil production segment by 3 – 5% and by about half that in refining and petrochemicals.

AUTOMA 2019 is created only for those who understand the important role of the digitalization and automation in oil&gas industry. Here the key players from Upstream, Midstream & Downstream segments are gathering to discuss the real cases and to see the latest technologies and services presented. Automation in all parts of the value chain, predictive maintenance, Artificial intelligence and machine learning, Integrated digital platforms, information sharing, transparency & cyber security, smart contracts & operations optimization – these and many other topics are going to be raised within 2 days of the Congress.

VONK will also have a booth at AUTOMA 2019, where we will present our innovative solutions regarding, amongst others, Online Migration, Virtualization, Process Automation & Control and PCD/IT Rejuvenation.

We hope to welcome you In Zürich on 14 and 15 October!

VONK will be present at the international Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference 2019 in the RAI in Amsterdam on 8 and 9 October.

We invite you to meet us there at display stand 2.418, so we can inform you about our smart solutions for offshore oil & gas assets, like Solar, Wind and Wave based Hybrid Power Systems, Decommissioning Skids and Platform Simplification Services.

Registration for the Exhibition is free. We look forward to seeing you there!

The new VONK office in Brunei is now open for business!

Thanks to Nurul , our new  Bruneian VONK Team member,  for decorating the office with some pictures from the long history of VONK in Brunei.

VONK has been delivering successful projects in Brunei for over 30 years and it was great to look back and appreciate our past successes.

Looking to the future, we are energized to grow further while working with our Bruneian clients to deliver quality solutions safely and on time.

We are extremely proud to currently be working together with both BLNG and BSP on multiple projects.

Danny Pastoor and Sander Bosch have successfully completed the training and examination for Functional Safety Engineer (FS Eng), certified by TÜV Rheinland.

VONK has a long history in designing, building and maintaining Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).  From the early days using trip amplifiers and relays to the latest programmable systems. Although systems, standards and regulations have evolved, VONK has always been focused on delivering a high quality product, ensuring the safety of people, environment and client’s assets. VONK is independent of any OEM, enabling VONK to deliver the best suited solution for the client’s needs.

Danny and Sander will, together with the other certified FS engineers within VONK, continue delivering and maintaining the optimal Safety Instrumented Systems for our clients.

Dutch based VONK will deliver the first XL type Helix Turbine to its launching customer at the North. The largest Dutch based oil and gas producer agreed to integrate this model in the next to be greened offshore production facility at the North Sea. The turbine is robust and able to withstand windspeeds up to 50 m/sec. The turbine starts generating power at 2m/s windspeed and runs nearly silent (35 dBA @ 10m/s). It operates 360°, without tracking and allow helicopter operation while in service. The Powertrain is a single IP68 housing that include the generator, gearbox, net inverter and mechanical brake. The brake kicks in for safety reasons at windforce 9. The turbines can be installed both on or alongside the topside. The unit is more robust and compared with venturi and small blade turbines capable to coop with fast changing wind direction as for instance at the North Sea. The current turbine will be installed in safe area and the process of having it suitable for ATEX zone 2 will commence soon. VONK has established a cooperation with the German based supplier of the turbine. Please feel free to contact VONK if you need any further information.

Vonk secured a contract for the delivery of a fourth offshore off-grid Hybrid Power Solution for our clients facilities at the North Sea.

The contract is part of the NAM’s offshore decomplexing program that ‘greens’ its offshore facilities and reduces its operational expenses by minimizing diesel consumption for power generation and reducing the maintenance intervals to once a year based on walk-to-work vessel operation instead of Heli flights. It will be the first of such installation to be constructed at the Dutch shelf at the North Sea.

The contract comprises the design, manufacturing, onshore testing and commissioning of a system that consist of a solar farm, 3kW helix type turbine, a single back-up generator, a power distribution and -management system as well as a battery storage unit. The system will be completed with marine navaid system as well as a PACO module.

The offshore installation is scheduled for the first half of 2020.
